S. Charles's Chapel
On the left, beneath the choir gallery, is the chapel of S. Charles Borromeo. Its marble altar, with matching candlesticks, was designed by John Pollen and stood in S. Philip’s Chapel until 1880. Its most unusual feature is the very large crosses of Derbyshire spa which adorn it.

The apse contains panels of Siena marble and alabaster pilasters. The statue of the saint was made by Messrs Boulton of Cheltenham. The statue of our Lady of Fatima, carved in wood, was sent from Fatima by Mrs Oscar Acciaioly of Madeira in thanksgiving for her reception into the Church. The wrought iron gates and the grilles at the Sacred Heart Altar are the gift and workmanship of Mr John Holland.
